SYSTEM FEDERATION NO. 29, RAILWAY EMPLOYES'
DEPARTMENT, A. F. OF L. (CARMEN)
DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES: That the Alton Railroad Company violated Rules 24 and 28 of agreement with System Federation No. 29 when Park Olds, carman, was furloughed on April 18, 1940, while six carmen younger in point of seniority continued to work at Springfield, Illinois, and that he be compensated for all time lost by himself from June 24, 1940, to October 10, 1940, when he was restored to service by the carrier. The employes are not asking compensation for the period between April 18, 1940, and June 24, 1940, as Mr. Olds was under a physician's care most of that time.
STATEMENT: The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to organization in ex parte form, and the Division is now in receipt of request from the employes that the case be withdrawn.
