PARTIES TO DISPUTE:
SYSTEM FEDERATION NO. 97, RAILWAY EMPLOYES,
DEPARTMENT, A. F. of L. (Machinists)
GULF, COLORADO AND SANTA FE RAILWAY COMPANY, THE
DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES:
"1. That under the current agreement the Carrier has improperly
used furloughed Machinist J. C. Knebel of San Angelo, Texas,
now working as Coach Cleaner at that point, to fill vacancies of
short duration caused by Machinists being off duty due to illness,
rest days or leave of absence and to work as a Machinist as
a supplement to the regular force. .
2. That the Carrier be ordered to properly apply the controlling
agreement by assigning only Machinists, regularly employed
as such, to do Machinists work at San Angelo."
STATEMENT: The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to
organization in ex parte form, and the Division is now in receipt of a request
from the employes that the case be withdrawn.
AWARD
Claim dismissed.
