SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY (Pacific Lines)

DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES: 1. That under the current agreement the Carrier unjustly treated with Machinist Arthur King when:

a) He was improperly demoted to Helper status during the period January 18, 1954 and September 17, 1954.

b) He was improperly compensated at the Helper rate of pay during the period January 1.8, 1954 and September 17, 1954.

2. That accordingly the Carrier be ordered to additionally compensate the aforesaid Machinst the difference between Mechanic's rate of pay and Helper's rate of pay for the period January 18, 1954 and September 17, 1954.

STATEMENT: The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to organization in ex parte form, and the Division is now in receipt of a request from the Employes that the case be withdrawn.
