GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY COMPANY
DISPUTE:
CLAIM OF EMPLOYES: 1. That under the current agreement, the Carrier improperly abolished the assigned Wrecking Crew with the
exeception of the Fireman and Engineer at Everett, Washington, effective
April 23, 1954.
2. That the Carrier subsequently failed to call five of the affected
Carmen, A. Weber, W. Smith, B. Pearson, G. Magaffin and L. Van Landegham
for a derailment at Snohomist, Washington, on June 5, 1954, and Eclipse
Mill, Everett, Washington on June 6, 1954.
3. That accordingly the Carrier be ordered to:
a) Rescind the bulletin of April 23, 1954 and restore Wrecking
Crew to its status prior to April 23, 1954 and allow Carmen A. Weber,
W. Smith, B. Pearson, G. Magaffin and L. Van Landegham to again
exercise their rights as assigned members of the Everett Wrecking
Crew.
b) Compensate Carmen Weber, Smith, Pearson, Magaffin and
Van Landegham each in the amount of 233'4 hours pay at the straight
time rate for June 5, 1954 and each in the amount of 111/4 hours
pay at the straight time rate for June 6, 1954.
STATEMENT:
The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to
Organization in ex parte form and the Division is now in receipt of a request
from the Employes that the case be withdrawn.
AWARD
Claim dismissed.
