GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY COMPANY
DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES:
1. That under the current agreement, the Carrier improperly abolished the assigned Wrecking Crew with the
exception of the Fireman and Engineer at Everett, Washington, effective
April 23, 1954.
2. That the Carrier subsequently failed to call four of the affected
Carmen Walter Smith, Beryl Pearson, Louis Van Landegham and George
Magaffin for a derailment at Everett, Washington, October 15, 1954.
3. That accordingly the Carrier be ordered td:
a) Rescind the bulletin of April 23, 1954 and restore the Wrecking Crew to its status prior to April 23, 1954, and allow Carmen
Walter Smith, Beryl Pearson, Louis Van Landegham and George
Magaffin to again exercise their rights as assigned members of the
Everett Wrecking Crew.
b) Compensate Carmen George Smith, Beryl Pearson, Louis Van
Landegham and George Magaffin each in the amount of
71/2
hours
pay at straight time rate for October 15, 1954.
STATEMENT: The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to
Organization in ex parte form and the Division is now in receipt of a request
from the Employes that the case be withdrawn.
AWARD
Claim dismissed.
