PARTIES TO DISPUTE
SYSTEM FEDERATION NO. 151, RAILWAY EMPLOYES'
DEPARTMENT, AFL-CIO (Electrical Workers)
DETROIT & TOLEDO SHORE LINE RAILROAD COMPANY
DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES:
(a) That under the current Agreement the Carrier is improperly
assigning other than Electrical Workers to the work of:
1. Connecting and disconnecting electrical control circuits between Diesel-electric locomotive units;
2. making the inspection and necessary tests of electrical controls for single or multiple unit operation of Dieselelectric locomotive units; and
3. making the daily or trip inspection of electrical
equipment on Diesel-electric locomotives.
(b) That accordingly the Carrier be ordered to:
1. Assign electrical workers to perform the work set
out under (a) 1, 2, and 3, above, and
2. additionally compensate Electricians M. Schenaver
and T. Schmidt in the amount of eight (8) hours each per day
at the applicable straight time rate of pay, starting September 24, 1955, through February 7, 1957, and starting April 7,
1957, and each day thereafter for the aforesaid violation.
(Note-Period from February 7, 1957 to April 7, 1957,
omitted by agreement with the Carrier.)
STATEMENT:
The above question was submitted to the Second Division
of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to organization in ex parte form, and the Division is now in receipt of a request from
the employes that the case be withdrawn.
