SYSTEM FEDERATION NO. 7, RAILWAY EMPLOYES'
DEPARTMENT, AFL-CIO (Carmen)
NORTHERN PACIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY
DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES:
1. That under the controlling agreement the applying of lubricants to journal bearings is Carman Helpers' work.
2. That on April 5, 1956, and on subsequent dates, the Carrier
violated the agreement and particularly Rule 77, when other than Carmen Helpers were assigned to perform the work of placing grease in
roller bearing journal boxes.
3. That accordingly the Carrier be ordered to additionally compensate Carman Helper E. A. Splittstoser for two (2) hours at time
and one-half rate for April 5, 1956, and for subsequent dates of such
violations.
STATEMENT: The above question was submitted to the Second Division
of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to organization in ex parte form, and the Division is now in receipt of a request from the
employes that the case be withdrawn.
AWARD
Claim dismissed.
