CENTRAL OF GEORGIA RAILWAY COMPANY
DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES:
1. That the repairing, overhauling and rewinding of Diesel
Traction Motors comes within the scope of Electricians' work.
2. That the Central of Georgia Railway Company violated the
controlling Agreement when in December 1957, it contracted with
the General Electric Company to repair four (4) traction motors
removed from Diesel Switcher No. 33.
3. That accordingly the Carrier be ordered to
a) Desist from unilaterally transferring traction
motor repairs to outside concerns, and
b) Additionally compensate electricians C. H. Mayes,
L. W. Gilmore, H. H. Lane, F. E. Wade, and Electrician
Apprentices R. C. Potter for an equal number of hours, at
their respective pro-rata rate, divided among them, required by General Electric to rewind and repair the following traction motor fields and armatures:
Fields -No. 1710368, No. 1847240, No. 1800169, No. 2101177
Armatures -No. 1580568, No. 1489603, No. 1402866, No. 1523082
STATEMENT:
The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to
organization in ex parte form and the Division is now in receipt of a request
from the employes that the case be withdrawn.
