CHICAGO, ROCK ISLAND AND PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY
DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES:
1. That the overhauling of diesel engines comes within the
scope of the current agreement as Machinists' work.
2. That the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company, on February 17, 1958, violated the current agreement
when two Detroit auxiliary diesel engines, identified by serial
numbers 6119160 and 6139255, were removed from Jet Rocket
locomotive No. 1 by the Carrier's machinists and sent to an outside
company for overhauling, which thereby damaged the machinists
employed by the Carrier.
3. That accordingly the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific
Railroad Company be ordered to additionally compensate machinists Robert Smith, Melvin Circullo, John Tighe and J. Mitchell
one hundred and sixty (160) hours' pay at the time and one-half
rate, to be equally divided among the claimants.
STATEMENT: The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred
to organization in ex parte form and the Division is now in receipt of a request from the employes that the case be withdrawn.
