ATCHISON, TOPEKA AND SANTA FE RAILWAY COMPANY
DISPUTE:
CLAIM OF EMPLOYES:
1. That under the terms of the controlling agreement others
than Sheet Metal Workers were improperly assigned to perform
the welding of pipe connections and pipe fittings on the fuel lines
on Mechanical temperature Control Cars at the Carrier's Wichita,
Kansas Car Shops, beginning March 17, 1958.
2. Accordingly the Carrier be ordered to:
1) Cease and desist from using others than Sheet
Metal Workers to perform this Sheet Metal Workers'
work.
2) Additionally compensate Sheet Metal Workers
H. L. Dawson and R. G. Startzman at their applicable
rates in the amount of two and one-half (2%) hours
for each Mechanical Temperature Control Car on which
this welding was performed starting March 17, 1958.
STATEMENT: The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to
organization in ex parte form and the Division is now in receipt of a request
from the employes that the case be withdrawn.
AWARD
Claim dismissed.
