SYSTEM FEDERATION NO. 114, RAILWAY EMPLOYES'
DEPARTMENT, AFL-CIO (Carmen)
SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY (Pacific Lines)
DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES:
1. That the operation of Ajax Fitted Journal Bearing Machines is properly the work of Carmen.
2. That the Carrier improperly transferred and assigned the
operation thereof to other than Carmen.
3. That accordingly, the Carrier be ordered to restore the
operation of such machines to Carmen and compensate Carmen D. E.
Nooner, P. Catino, W. Pacci, M. L. Pemberton, U. S. Wilkerson,
A. L. Palmer, J. Stiglich, S. Colburn, J. Tomlin, N. Arrington, E.
Herbert and E. M. Dollarhide, on an equally divided basis, for eight
hours per day at the time and one-half rate for each day other than
Carmen have operated the machines subsequent to August 14, 1956.
STATEMENT: The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to
organization in ex parte form and the Division is now in receipt of a request
from the employes that the case be withdrawn.

Claim dismissed.
