SOUTHERN PACIFIC LINES IN TEXAS AND LOUISIANA
(TEXAS AND NEW ORLEANS RAILROAD COMPANY)
DISPUTE: CLAIM OF EMPLOYES:
1. That under the current Agreement the Carrier improperly
abolished car inspectors' positions and cut the carmen force, and assigned switch yard crew and train crew members to perform car
inspectors' work of inspecting cars in trains.
2. That, for and in consideration of the aforesaid violation, Carman (Car Inspector) L. W. Mayfield be additionally compensated four
(4) hours at the -applicable hourly rate for May 22, 1960.
3. That the Carrier be ordered to re-establish sufficient car inspectors' positions to perform the carmen's work of inspecting cars
and making proper air brake tests on trains and refrain yard switch
and train crew members from performing carmen's work of inspecting
cars in the Del Rio Train Yard, Del Rio, Texas.
STATEMENT OF CLAIM: The above question was submitted to the
Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board by the above
referred to organization in ex parte form. Parties to said dispute waived right
of appearance at hearing thereon, and the Division is now in receipt of a
request from the employes that the case be withdrawn.
AWARD
Claim dismissed.
