Dispute: Claim of Employes:
1. That under the current Agreement, particularly Rule 8-H-1, the Consolidated
Rail Corporation (Conrail) unjustly fails to provide Radio Maintainer
G. R. Jackson, P. R. Siefert, J. B. Underwood, J. B. Watts with the swme
training and schooling that it generally provides other Radio Maintainers
in the same general area.
2. That, particularly, the Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) has
unjustly failed to allow the aforementioned employes to attend a training
school conducted on its property on November 20, 1980 by the Motorola
Company, and to which the Carrier sent its Radio Maintainers from a wide
surrounding area including Indianapolis, Indiana; Beech Grove, Indiana;
Terre Haute, Indiana; Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Columbus, Ohio; Sharonville;,
Ohio; Urbana, Illinois; Mt. Carmel, Illinois; Englewood, Illinois;
Detroit, Michigan.
3. That, particularly, the Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail) has
unjustly failed to allow the aforementioned employes to attend a training
school conducted on its property on August 28 through 29, 1979 by Motorola,
Inc. and to which the Carrier sent all other Radio Maintainers from a wide
general area surrounding the Claimants location.
4. That accordingly the Carrier should be ordered to make the Claimants
whole by providing them with all of the same training it generally provides
its other Radio Maintainers, under the same conditions; and by providing
them with all of the same training, under the same conditions, that
it
has generall provided its other Radio Maintainers to date in this case;
and by additionally compensating each Claimant in the amount of one
month's pay each at the applicable Radio Maintainer's rate.
The Claimants are: Radio Maintainer G. R. Jackson
Radio Maintainer P. R. Siefert
Radio Maintainer J. B. Underwood
Radio Maintainer J. B. Watts
All are employed at the Carrier's Radio Shop at Avon, Indiana.
Statement:
The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National
Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to organization in ex parte form,
hearing thereon was waived, and the Division is now in receipt of a request from
the employes that the case be withdrawn.
