1. That the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad willfully violated the controlling
agreement and abruptly abandoned the established practices of assigning
Sheet Metal Workers the
inspection and
filling, if necessary, acetylene
stations when on July 29, August 20, 21, and September 17, and 18,
1980, Carmen were improperly assigned this work.
2. That accordingly, the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad Company be ordered
to compensate Sheet Metal Worker M. T. Sanford, Jr., in amount of eight
hours pay at the overtime rate for each day Company improperly assigned
Carmen to perform Sheet Metal Workers' work.
Statement:
The above question was submitted to the Second Division of the National
Railroad Adjustment Board by the above referred to organization in ex parte farm,
hearing thereon was waived, and the Division is now in receipt of a request from
the Carrier that the case be withdrawn.
