PARTIES TO DISPUTE:
BROTHERHOOD OF RAILWAY AND STEAMSHIP CLERKS,
FREIGHT HANDLERS, EXPRESS AND STATION EMPLOYES
GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY COMPANY
STATEMENT OF CLAIM:
The Claim of the System Committee of the
Brotherhood of Railway and Steamship Clerks, Freight Handlers, Express and
Station Employes that the Carrier violated the Clerks' Agreement.
1. When on February 23, 1948 it abolished the position of General Clerk,
rate $9.46 per day, at the Willmar Freight Station, distributing the work to the
second and third trick operators at the Willmar Passenger Station, thus removing the work from under the scope and operation of the Clerks' Agreement.
2. That the position of General Clerk be re-established, be bulletined and
assigned immediately under the Clerks' Agreement.
3. That the following employes be reimbursed for the wage loss they
suffered due to the illegal removal of the work:
R. J. Robinson, the differenence between $9.46 and $9.21 per day
while working Car Record Job.
Everett Anderson, the difference between $9.21 and $8.32 per day
for all working days since February 23, 1948, except when R. J.
Robinson was working at $.946 rate and for that time he should receive the difference between $8.32 per day and $9.46 per day.
M. Skaalerud, the difference between $8.32 and $7.94 or $7.72 on
days he worked Janitor-Warehouseman or Janitor ,jobs.
D. Olson, the difference between $8.32 and $7.92 for all days of
period Skaalerud's claim does not cover, or covered by C. Robinson
claim.
C. Klucas, the difference between $7.72 and $7.92 or $7.94 on all
days of period except where Skaalerud's claim covers $7.72 rate.
C. Robinson, the difference between $8.32 and $7.92 per day for
all days worked as Caller at $7.92 per day.
For all working days of the period, $7.72 is claimed for C. Hedlund, R. Stromert and H. Sotendahl when they were the senior men on
the extra list.
FINDINGS: The Third Division of the Adjustment Board finds:
That the dispute was certified to the Third Division of the Adjustment
Board ex parte by the complainant party; and

That no hearing thereon has been held and under date of October 31, 1949,
the complainant party addressed a formal communication to the Acting Secretary of the Third Division requesting withdrawal of this case, which request
is hereby granted.
AWARD
Case dismissed.
