PARTIES TO DISPUTE:
THE ORDER OF RAILROAD TELEGRAPHERS
CHICAGO, ROCK ISLAND AND PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY
STATEMENT OF CLAIM:
Claim of the General Committee of The
Order of Railroad Telegraphers on the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific
Railroad, that:
1. Carrier violated the Agreement between the parties hereto
when, during the period July 14, 1957, to and including October
27, 1957, to meet a temporary condition, it declared abolished the
Relief Wire Chief position in its Liberal, Kansas relay office;
2. Carrier shall now be required to compensate P. R. McDonald, regular incumbent of the Liberal, Kansas, Relief Wire Chief
position, under appropriate rules of the said Agreement, for each
hour or day, during the aforementioned period, he was required to
work outside the hours of his regular assignment.
FINDINGS:
The Third Division of the Adjustment Board finds:
That the dispute was certified to the Third Division of the Adjustment
Board ex parte by the complainant party; and
That hearing thereon has been held and concluded. Under date of June
29, 1959, the parties jointly addressed a formal communication to the
Secretary of the Third Division requesting withdrawal of this case from
further consideration by the Division, which request is hereby granted.
AWARD
Claim dismissed.
