1) The Carrier acted in an arbitrary capricious and unjust maser, and in violation of Section VI of the Agreement when it suspended M. A. Campbell for a period of thirty days commencing June 1, 1979 and terminating June 30, 1979 inclusive.

2) The Carrier shall now dismiss all charges against M. A. Campbell.. clear her personal record of all mention of such charges and pay M. A. Campbell for all time lost at her regular rate.

OPINION OF HOARD: Claimant Myrna A. Campbell,, a Clerk, was charged with
failure to comply with the telephone instructions of
Carrier's Manager of Purchases, Claims and Labor Relations to her on
April 21, 1979, that Claimant call him about 10:00 AM on April 23, 1979
concerning her letter of displacement. An investigation was held on
May 23~ 1979 and Claimant was subsequently given a thirty calendar day
suspension.

A review of the record before this Bawd establishes that there was substantial evidence in the record to sustain the Carrier's decision to discipline Claimant for failure to follow instructions. In the Board's opinion the penalty imposed by the Carrier was appropriate.
