 QUESTION
 AT ISSUE: Does Article IV, Section 1 contemplate that Carrier
 shall promptly compensate employees due preservation
 of compensation under its terms and thereafter keep
 such preservation of compensation on a current basis?
 OPINION
 OF BOARD: The question is framed in general language and assumes
 the individuals involved are rightfully entitled to
 the continuation of their compensation at the protected
 rate.
 The Carrier has the obli&:''ion to keep reasonably current
 in maintaining the protected rate of compensa;:.on of a protected employee.
 Whether or not the Carrier is in violation of Article IV, Section 1, in a
 particular case depends upon what is reasonable under the circumstances of that
 case.

The answer to the question submitted is resolved as per Opinion.
