STATEMENT OF CIAIM
:
1. Carrier violated the provisions of the Telegraphers' Agreement
when it refused to adjust the rate of pay for the positions
of Agent at Tupper Lake, N. Y., Saranac Lake, N. Y.,and Valley
field, P.Q., when the duties and responsibilities were materi
ally increased due to the consolidation of the ticket and
freight agencies.
2. Carrier shall now be required to comply with the agreement
provisions stated in Article 20 (d) with increase in each
Agent's rate of pay commencing August 19, 1957, the date of
the consolidation.
OPINION OF BOARD
:
In Award No. 21, this Board remanded the subject claim to the parties for
the purpose of a joint evaluation of the positions involved and for a comparison
of the rates of pay for said positions with the rates for similar positions in the
same seniority district. By joint letter dated February 6, 1959, the parties advised the Board that they had reached agreement on the merits of this claim and
accordingly requested that the case be withdrawn from our agenda. This request
is granted.
