THE ORDER OF RAILROAD TELEGRAPHERS
VS.
THE DELAWARE, LACKAWANNA & WESTERN RAILROAD COMPANY
EMPLOYEES' STATEMENT OF CLAIM:
1. Carrier violated Articles 1 (Scope) and 12(a) of the current
Telegraphers' Agreement when, commencing at 8:17 AM, or after
the departure of Train 1026 on Thursday, Sept. 12, 1957, Mountain View Tower was removed from service and the work formerly
performed by employees at this location was transferred to employees not covered by the Telegraphers' Agreement in the
train dispatcher's office at Hoboken, N. J., said work consisting of controlling interlocked switches and/or signals from a
central location, which work is by said Agreement reserved to
employees covered by the Telegraphers' Agreement.
2. Carrier shall compensate, the three (3) senior idle employees
(extra board men preferred) for eight (8) hours pay on an around
the clock basis, seven (7) days a week, for each day beginning
Thursday, September 12, 1957, and continuing thereafter as long
as such work is performed by employees not covered by the Telegraphers' Agreement. Said compensation to be paid at the prevailing rate of $2.146 per hour plus subsequent wage increases.

This case is controlled by our Award 18.
