1. Claim of Trackman C. R. Hill, System Rail Gang

6801, for reinstatement with seniority, pass and vacation rights unimpaired because Carrier allegedly improperly dismissed claimant for being absent without proper authority on June 5, 1978.

FINDINGS: The evidence adduced at the investigation supports the charge .
of absence without authority by failure of claimant to report
his absence as previously instructed, and claimant had only one year of
service, so dismissal is not excessive discipline.

AWARD: Claim denied.
