STATEMENT
OF CLAIM: Claim of the Committee that:
1. Claim of Machine Operator Roosevelt Grant for eight
hours pay each work day and holiday, as well as any
overtime that he may have received beginning December
22,
1978,
and continuing until reinstated to service with
seniority and vacation rights unimpaired, because Carrier
improperly dismissed him for failing to report a personal
injury of November 13,
1978,
promptly, and carelessness
in conducting his duties.
FINDINGS: Claimant did not appear at the investigation and did not
contact any responsible official about it and it was
conducted purusant to proper contractual notice.
Evidence was adduced to sustain the charge, so there is
no basis for sustaining the claim.
AWARD: Claim denied.
