versus

MISSOURI PACIFIC FAILROAD COMPANY

SlkTEMENT OF CTAIM: The Claim of the System Committee that:

1. The Carrier violated the effective agreement by assigning Iron Workers of the System Bridge Gang to perform Carpenter work on the Carriers bridge at Leeds, Missouri, on certain specified dates in June of 1960.

2. The senior B&B Foreman and senior Assistant Foreman and the six senior B&B Mechanics on the Kansas City Terminal Division, be now compensated eight hours each at their respective pro rata rate for June 17, 20, 21, 22 and 23, 1960.

FINDINGS: The work involved in this claim was the removal and replacement of
wooden walkways on a steel bridge by a System Steel Bridge Gang. It
appears that this work was wholly incidental to and necessary for the accomplish
ment of the repairs to the steel bridge to which the gang was assigned. Accord
ingly, there is no valid basis for the claim.

AWARD: Claim denied.
