STATEMENT OF CIAIM:
Claim of the System Committee of the
Brotherhood that:
1. The Carrier violated the effective Agreement by failing to assign
Maintenance of Way welders to the performance of certain specified
work in connection with the installation of a jib crane at the shops
at Pine Bluff, Arkansas, during the months of September and October .

2. That senior Welder C. W. Jordan and senior Helper J. W. Beavers be
now paid for 80 hours of work at their respective rates of pay account
of this referred to violation of the Agreement.
FINDINGS:
Upon the whole record and all the evidence, after hearing, the Board finds
that the parties herein are carrier and employee within the meaning of the Railway
Labor Act, as amended, and that this Board is duly constituted by agreement and
has jurisdiction of the parties and of the subject matter.
From the evidence produced at the hearing, the work performed in this dispute
was work which could properly be assigned to the shop forces because it was work
which was performed on shop equipment. Therefore, this claim will be denied.
AWARD:
Claim denied.
