STATEMENT 1. Carrier violated the Agreement between the parties when on
OF CLAIM: October 26, 1957 it required or permitted an Assistant
Trainmaster at east end Bay View Yard to secure permission
for Train No. 6 to make a reverse movement.
2. Carrier shall compensate the senior idle operator in the
amount of a day's pay (8 hours) on that date.
FINDINGS:
An assistant trainmaster cannot be considered a member of a
crew. It was he who made the call.
A sustaining award is in order.
