Award No. 11

A hearing into Lhe matter was held on February 17, 198'1. As
a result of that hearing Claimant was found guilty as chLr_ed and
dismissed fron Carrier's service. The transcript of LhaL hearing,
has been made a part of Hie record of Lhis case. A review of that.
record reveals that Claimant was g-ronted a full and fair hearing and
that he was guilty as charged. He clearly left his post prior to
being relieved. His excuse concerning his car and the weather is
unacceptable. Claimant is
sully
aware that his first obligation is
to his job and his excu:>u; for abaudoninn his post is unacceptable.
Carrier in this instanc~_. saw fit to ::ischarge Claimant 'on this infraction.. This Board can find no basis on which
Lo
overturn that
action.
